Our Story
MaDora Stone, The Means To A Beginning
Like many people during the pandemic, I experienced many life changes and challenges. Changes in life’s day-to-day were happening so fast it was overwhelming; companies were restructuring, resulting in layoffs, job furloughs, and position eliminations, and household income was seriously affected because many households, like mine, now how to rely on one payment to cover all the housing expenses, many people like myself were forced to work multiple jobs to make enough money to paid bills, buy food, clothing, pay for transportation and other essentials. Also, the costs of goods and services increased sufficiently, making it challenging to afford most necessities. Our regular day-to-day routines were being replaced with “the new norms” like mask-wearing, social distancing, remote living and working, and the tic tok crave, to name a few.
In the beginning, adjusting to these recent changes significantly affected my work-life balance, such as working multiple jobs and making less than before was difficult. After a year and some months of adjusting, like many people, to new jobs, reorganizing, and learning new ways to save, spend, and buy more innovative, I decided to start a business on my own. I wanted to offer a service people need at a people-friendly price.
For 38 years, I helped people complete very complex and lengthy financial documents; for 20 years, I have processed individual and small business tax returns. Both positions required in-depth research and a thorough understanding of state, federal, and local policies and procedures, in which I excelled. Staying true to myself and what I know, I decided to start a tax preparation, Notary, and loan-signing company. I knew from speaking with people and my own experience that the impact of the pandemic made people suspicious of the quality of the goods and services we were receiving, as well as the commitment and dedication we were receiving from the companies that were providing the goods or services.
I wanted to change that perception by offering affordable, easily accessible, and reliable services. I tried to comfort clients by knowing they were doing business with a knowledgeable company, skills, and being up-to-date on the latest policies and regulations and best practices in tax preparation, notarizations, and the various types of loan signing packages. Also, I would enhance the client experience by offering exemplary customer service.
